Hexaware Technologies has named Vivek Jetley, a senior executive at EXL, as its incoming chief executive officer. Jetley will assume the role on October 28, replacing Srikrishna Ramakarthikeyan, who is exiting after leading the firm for 12 years.
Jetley brings over 25 years of expertise in data and AI, analytics, consulting, and enterprise transformation. He currently holds the position of president at EXL, overseeing its insurance, healthcare, and life sciences divisions.
Leadership Transition
The decision arrives during a key period for Hexaware, which is handling a tougher growth environment and adapting to the shift brought by artificial intelligence in traditional IT services. Ramakarthikeyan will continue as a senior advisor to aid the handover.
Jetley’s background in expanding businesses and launching growth initiatives is anticipated to steer the company into its next stage. Hexaware chairman Larry Quinlan expressed appreciation for Ramakarthikeyan’s decade-long leadership.
AI-Led Services
Selecting an executive with deep analytics and AI experience aligns with Hexaware’s goal to grow its AI-powered services and explore new revenue streams. The company has embedded AI into its software engineering, application modernization, data, and enterprise transformation services.
“AI adoption fundamentally changes how services are delivered, how capabilities are built, and how enterprises create value,” Jetley stated. He also highlighted his vision to position Hexaware as a top AI-driven services provider and assist clients through this transformation.
Hexaware has ramped up its AI investments, recently unveiling projects related to agentic AI, enterprise AI programs, AI-enabled security, and its wider “Zero Friction Enterprise” framework. Jetley’s role will involve more than just boosting performance — it includes redefining the company’s service delivery model.
Following its Q2 results, Hexaware revised its 2026 revenue outlook downward to 6-7%, compared to a prior forecast of at least 7.6%, reflecting ongoing challenges despite rising demand for AI-focused offerings.
To address these headwinds, Hexaware is doubling down on its AI-centric services strategy, with Jetley’s leadership expected to be instrumental in driving future expansion.
