Impersonation Protection shifts focus from detection to verification
The firm describes the feature as “Impersonation Protection,” a set of tools that validate the authenticity of communications rather than merely flag suspected fakes. Traditional defenses rely on in‑line detection algorithms that scan video or audio for signs of manipulation.
It adds a verification step that checks the source of a message, the context of its delivery, and cryptographic signatures where available. “We’re moving beyond the idea that a face or voice can be trusted by default,” the statement reads. “Our system confirms that the person behind the communication is who they claim to be, using a combination of biometric checks, token‑based authentication, and behavioral analysis.” The product is positioned for executives, board members, and other high‑profile individuals who often become targets of social engineering.
BlackCloak says the new protection works across email, messaging platforms, and video conferencing tools.
